MITHILA WORKSHOP

Mithila art is a traditional folk art form originating from the Mithila region of India but also widely spread in Nepal. The workshop would start with a presentation to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for Nepal's diverse and colorful culture and also to advertise the PDW to our partner school NAG in Nepal. Mithila art consists of 5 different forms yet the workshop will be concentrating on the Batchi form which is the most common form and involves vibrant colours to fill in the outlined figures. Mithila art concentrates on the depictions of nature, mythology, and daily life which to the exhibition's theme of growth. This workshop will be led by two students Jadwiga Letkiewicz and Estella Kremser. The workshop will allow its participants to create their own Mithila Design.
