This impact lab aims to show how thrifting and reworking old clothes contribute to reducing the demand for new clothing production. Fast fashion often leads to excessive waste and pollution. By upcycling and giving new life to pre-loved items, you’re helping to lessen your environmental impact.


Clean Beauty

This impact lab aims to promote healthy usage of natural resources to create things and consider ingredients in popular makeup brands.


Youth to Youth

This impact labs aims to motivate, inspire and teach youth how to begin their own projects and business through presentations by experienced students describing their process and journey through their successes and challenges. Youth will acquire knowledge and find inspiration regarding area they would want to dive into.


Robotics

Computer science can appear scary to beginners, it isn’t something often taught in schools until high school. In a world surrounded by AI, we must understand the basics of how it works. This lab aims to promote computer science to students through Arduino, a beginner-friendly software.


The Conflict Resolution Lab: Elevate Leadership and Communication Skills

This is a dynamic workshop designed to empower you with the skills and confidence needed for effective communication and leadership. Participants delve into the world of conflict resolution through engaging role plays and discussions and learn practical strategies typically reserved for top management, empowering them with practical tools to navigate conflicts with diplomacy and finesse. Gain the confidence to handle difficult conversations and feel more assured as a leader.


Ethical Investing: the Board Game

Are you interested in learning about personal finance and impact investing in a hands-on and fun way? In this impact lab, the inventors of Equity The Board Game will give a short discussion of their journey and then you will have a chance to play the game.  You will be learning about personal finance with elements of the game being a reflection of past events in the world (The 2008 global financial crisis as an example).  


Food Systems Impact Lab

The “Food Footprinters” are a group of students from United World College Robert Bosch College (UWC RBC), an international school located in Freiburg, Germany. One of 18 UWCs worldwide, UWC RBC has students from around 100 countries, almost all on full or partial scholarships.
At YFS 2024, three members of the team together with their teacher Tobi Kellner will offer a workshop on the area footprint of food and agriculture – about how much land it takes to grow one meal, and why it matters!
