Faces of Identity

“My idea for the picture was to show how identities are varied like trees and how everyone's identity is different and individual. To make the photo I first took a photo of the trees and then I re-exposed the film by taking a picture of my face. I then developed the picture along with the other pictures on the roll and then I scanned them in. I like taking pictures with the film because of the number of effects like re-exposure that you can do with it and the look of the film pictures. I also like the film because of how involved the process is such as developing and scanning the film. I decided on the title because of the things featured in the photograph and the themes of identities that it represents.”
