Bengt Steinbrecher is a “treasure hunter” – for the construction materials industry! 

As Head of Holcim MAQER Ventures, he is on the look-out for startups helping to address the challenges of the construction industry: decarbonization of the built industry, acceleration of circular solutions and increase of construction productivity. Together with startups, Holcim MAQER Ventures aims to reinvent how the world builds.

Years back, Bengt brought his background in the startup and M&A environment to the now global leader in construction materials. In his almost 20 years with Holcim he held various management positions in country operations and at corporate either establishing new teams and promoting innovative solutions or repositioning business units. 

In his current role he is not only the ambassador for emerging technologies from startups, he is also advocating change management which is required to support the internal transformation.
