Wellington College Students

Rufus Shutter

My name is Rufus Shutter, and I am in my last year school at Wellington College, England. I became an academic scholar in 2022 and Ella and I first gave this presentation at Wellington’s Klaus Dodds Scholars Prize where we were awarded first place. My personal academic passion centres around English Language and Literature which I aim to pursue at University next year. In May of last year, I entered and won Oriel College Oxford’s Rex Nettleford Prize writing on the relationship between the arts and racialized hierarchies from an English Literature perspective. Beyond academics, I am Head of College at Wellington and also love acting, frequently appearing in school productions, and wrapping my first professional project last October.

Gabriella Rummery

Hi, I’m Gabriella Rummery and I’m in my last year of high school at Wellington College, England. I joined Wellington and became an art and academic scholar in 2022. I study Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Art at A-Level and my passions lie with engineering and fine art. I am hoping to pursue an engineering degree in the US. In an attempt to learn how my art can aid my engineering I lead three of Wellington’s Academic Extension Societies: Film, Architecture and, Engineering. I also set up a tutoring programme at Wellington so that students at a local state school can be receive maths tutoring for free.
