Yves Martin

Born in Switzerland, Martin studied Physics at the EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) and continued there to obtain a PhD in Plasma Physics. After a postdoc position at General Atomic, San Diego, US, still in the domain of Fusion, he came back to Lausanne, at the Swiss Plasma Center (SPC), to contribute to the study of hot plasmas in the TCV tokamak. In addition to the scientific research, Martin operated the tokamak and developed its control system. He also participated in an international working group tasked with the dimensioning of ITER. He then became deputy to the Director of the SPC, dealing with communication and administration.
