Robin Teufel

Robin Teufel studied Biology at the University of Freiburg (Germany) until 2008. His succeeding PhD studies from 2009-2011 focused on microbial biochemistry.

From 2012 until 2014, he pursued his postdoctoral research in San Diego, USA, working on the biosynthesis of bacterial natural products. He returned to the University of Freiburg in January 2015 as a DFG-funded research group leader working on similar topics.

In January 2022, he took the current position as Head of Pharmaceutical Biology (University of Basel, Switzerland).

Currently, he works on the discovery and characterization of natural products as possible candidates for the development of new drugs.
