The Future of Music

Since the rise of electronic music in the 1980s, digital recording software has revolutionized the methods of music composition. From producing songs in large studios to the recent phenomenon of music production at home (“bedroom producers”), popular artists such as Beabadoobe have built a reputation through digital software and sample platforms. Not only has this industry transformed technology, but it has also shifted ownership from large record labels to individual artists. Looking ahead, it is clear that the shift of artists independently publishing music will widely expand, and advances such as AI will enhance their creative processes. This panel with musical artists Testament and Dylan Holloway, will explore how emerging technologies in music production could impact today’s music scene and revolutionize artists’ lives.
