Daniel Kitwika
Daniel Kitwika was born in Tanga region, North Eastern Tanzania. He is the last born among his 6 siblings. In 2007, when he was 14, his parents moved to Kigoma Region, West Tanzania, a very low-developed region with villages that have extremely poor schools and a lack of emphasis in education.
From a young age Daniel has demonstrated initiative and has learnt to be resilient and adaptable. Despite his humble background, he has always taken full advantage of any opportunity afforded him. With the full consent of his parents, he left home in western Tanzania at the age of 14 to seek a better education in Arusha, a journey of two days. He was eventually fortunate enough to be sponsored through high school.
As a result of his excellent results, he received a full government scholarship at the University of Dar-Es-Salaam, where he studied a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Honors in Banking and Financial Services. Since he graduated, he volunteered as a research assistant at the University of Dar-Es-Salaam and a community liaison. Daniel is very passionate to help the community since he is the raw product of the community development.
He is currently working on a plan that involves considerable investment in the community through links with businesses that are owned or are operated by the people who live in that community.
