Jessica Kelly
Jess Kelly is a documentary filmmaker and journalist focused on the Middle East. Her latest film, 'Silicon Valley’s Online Slave Market' uncovers the illegal trade of domestic workers in the Gulf, via mobile phone apps hosted by Google and Apple, and has been screened at the United Nations and in British Parliament. In addition to her investigative work she has also made films about popular culture and sub-culture.
Her 2019 film 'Palestine Underground' for Boiler Room sheds light on the underground music scene in Palestine. She is currently based at BBC Arabic and has previously made films with Amnesty International, BBC3, Channel 4, Vice and The Guardian. She is a guest lecturer on University College London’s MA in Ethnographic and Documentary Film.
