Fransisco Adan Escobar

Born in Santa Tecla, on May 1st 1993. Graduated as Psychologist in the Central American University on 2016, studied International Basketball at Leipzig University, Germany (2023).  Has studied several courses on political sciences sports performance and psychology.

As an athlete, has been part of El Salvador national youth teams, winning a Central American championship in 2008. Has also played in El Salvador’s first Division Basketball League, winning championships in 2016 and 2017. Won the national U23 championship in 2016, winning MVP of the tournament. Has also won national school champions in high school in 2007.

As a Basketball Coach, has won multiple championships in youth categories and has coached national youth teams and El Salvador First Division and was named coach of the year in 2017 in the College Cup Scholar Championships.

Named one of the 50 most influential young leaders by the Global Shapers Community and selected to attend The World Economic Forum Annual Summit 2025.

As Global Shaper has implemented several social projects focusing on peace promotion, art, mental health, and democracy.  Adán is also an ambassador of the International Basketball Federation Foundation in El Salvador, implementing projects that use basketball as a tool for development.
